Scar healing on melanoma biopsy?

Hi, I had a mole that i wanted cut out to check for melanoma. But i have a dark raised scar from the wound healing. It looked fine when they took the stitches out, like it wasnt dark. but now its been a few months and its pretty much dark and i dont know why its like that. will it fade over time? Thanks!
