Tonight my fiance made his spicy chili for dinner. It was really good, so I had two bowls..lol. Well now that I am sitting here, I realized I have a burning on the edge of my mouth. At first I thought it might be a blemish, but i checked in the mirror and it is just red. Could I have burnt my mouth from eating spicy chili? How can I make it go away or can't I? Are there any foods that cause problems with you? Thanks.

Eating too spicy could cause that. I think you should try to eat some ice cream. It would make you feel better. If ice cream is not available, you can have ice cube then. But doesn't taste as good as ice cream.

When you taste something spicy, your pain receptors are activated that is why you usually feel a burnt sensation. Eating spicy foods as well does not establish a blemish except if you are allergic with them. Just wash it out with water by gurgling or even just drinking to lessen its pain.
