I fell in love with Santorini, Greece when I saw it in photographs; because of that I'm planning to make it as my next destination soon. The view seems to be amazing; the great sunset, the clear seas, and the wonderful town...^^ What can you say about Greece? What are the things that we must see when we get there? Happy mylotting!

I have not been in Santorini but just by looking at it in the photos, I am already madly in love with the place. Greece will always be one of the place I want to visit in this lifetime and I am crossing my fingers that I get to visit it soon with my family.

Santorini is a great island! The best place to check out the world famous sunset is in Oia on the northwestern point of the island. Buses generally run from Fira (the main settlement) to Oia several times a day. The different colored beaches are pretty remarkable. Black, red and white rock all on the same island. Again, buses run fairly regularly during the daytime. I recommend Perissa, Kamari and the Red Beach, although there are some great semi-private beaches that you can trek down to if you feel up to it. We rented an ATV to see the island, and that's the way I recommend doing it. More freedom, even if you have to be fairly bold to navigate with some of the island drivers. The caldera is also a must see. You can see it from the edge of Fira near the clubbing district, but taking a cruise out there is the best way to really get to see it. I didn't get a chance to see Akrotiri since it was closed when I was there, but I think they estimated it to be open to visitors again in 2010. I found one of the greatest things about the islands were that just walking around you could have the most fun, and see some of the most unique things. An Australian girl and I went for a walk to find a horseback riding outfit and came across this entire herd of goats hanging out in a field that came for a walk with us. The one biggest thing I will warn you about is that you will get SWARMED by people offering rooms to let once you disembark from the ferry. It's not so bad if you have no place to stay, but it can be a little overwhelming if you do and you're just trying to find a way out of the throng and onto a bus. One of the bonuses of taking one of the rooms offered is that you generally get a free ride up to Fira (I wouldn't recommend walking -- it's a steep windy road with a lot of traffic) instead of paying €2-14 for a bus.

Santorini, Greece - A fantastic view of the island. From wikimedia commons.
I have seen Santorini in several photographs too, and I am in love with it just as much. Here's a photo of it that's my favorite. Oh, to be standing in any spot there! I am so sure that the view from the opposite direction is just as magnificent. Happy mylotting!

I have seen Santorini on TV and movies it is a beatiful place. The view is amazing my cousin had been there with her boss. She told us that the paid of the houses there is white. I think it is in there tradition to use white paint in their houses. I want to go there someday if I have enough money to travel.
