Does anyone on here trade forex?

I have just started to learn how this works, and have acquired a lovely piece of software that is guiding me through the ins and outs. Actually Ive been playing with a virtual sum of money and have actually made a fair profit.
Anyone here been doing it for any length of time that might be able to give me some tips?

I think it all depends on the minimum the broker sets. However, do not get into it if you are not familiar with it. You'll get burned. If you have invested in stocks, you know what I mean. They are quite the same. Research research research...ask around and think before you make a trade. set your goal before you enter a trade. I'm new so can't give any good advice.

Thanks curiousman for jumping in for me, that is the best advice anyone can give. Be VERY cautious and take it slowly, slowly, make sure you know what you are doing. This is a risky field, dont think you can make millions overnight, it just aint gonna happen. Chances are your gonna lose what you have if youre not prepared. Thanks nynapper for responding.

Can I get an estimate though of what it takes to get started? I either want to learn this or daytrading, but getting started trading stocks requires about $2,000 minimum so I just want to know which one is more available to me. I'm having trouble finding specific info on forex on the web as well it's either intended for advanced users or forex for dummies loaded with superlatives and no real valuable info.
