Can you help me Figure this out?

I'm having a big project this december, and its Project:MAKH.
MAKH means Make Ailing Kids Happy.
Im doing this to help and to make some unfortunate kids to be happy this Christmas.
And now Im here to ask you some suggestions, comments, or whatsoever Idea that I may Use to earn +$1000USD till the 15th of December.
I know that this may be Impossible, But for those kids, I will make this POSSIBLE.
Any Idea or Suggestions are very highly appreciated guys. Hope you can help me. because this is not for me, This is for poor kids that suffer different kinds of diseases.

[i]If you have an organization, you can collect their old stuff and do some "rummage sale" and that will help a lot!
We tried also that before but it was during valentines day, we grouped ourselves together and contribute anything just to gather food and clothes for the kids and we were so happy after distributing to them the items that we gathered and at the same time, we were happy to spend time with them![/i]

Can you sell things that you no longer use or need? I know here in the USA, people have yardsales and some even donate some of their proceeds to charity. We have a family, in our town, who do this yearly and then donate half to the cancer society. So if you could do this and let everyone know what you are raising the money for, it might bring in more people.
