I recently had a heated discussion with a good friend on the topic of dogs smiling.I have owned many dogs over the years and currently have two dogs that smile quite often. My friend says that he has read that the "experts" say that dogs do not smile and that it is just our human perception that they are smiling.I Know for a fact that at least my dogs smile.Any info or reference to reputable studys would be appreciated. Thanks Angusblue

I think they have their own way of smiling, with ears mouth and tail, it is ever so easy to see when a dog is laughing happy...

Well Ive had this discussion with my friend too. Well the truth is that dogs don't smile. Its our perception that they are smiling. Every animal is unique in their own way. What do we do when are happy? We smile. What do dogs do when they are happy? Yes, they wag their tail. Its general human tenancy to relate everything to ourselves. But ultimately if you are happy with believing that dogies smile then so be it. :)
