Palin Didn't Come Clean on Bridge To Nowhere

According to an article on MSNBC, when Palin bragged: I have championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress," Palin said in her vice presidential campaign debut in Dayton, Ohio. "In fact, I told Congress, I told Congress 'thanks but no thanks' on that Bridge to Nowhere", it wasn't quite the truth. Oops. It seems, according to the article, that she didn't quite talk that way when she was running for governor. Andrew Halcro, her former opponent, says that she changed her position for political purposes. Alaska did end up getting about half the $452 million, but used it on other transportation projects and left Ketchikan without a bridge. Why didn't she just tell the entire truth, instead of using the story to make herself look like the maverick she isn't? Opinions?
