More Responses Doesn't Give More Points?

So, is it true the maximum points you can get for a discussion is 1? Wouldn't it make more sense for discussions with more responses to be worth more? Otherwise, why post interesting questions? Somebody could just post a discussion, get one measly response, and then forget it.

I believe the system is automated. You don't get one point per response like someone said. Sometimes I can respond 10 or 12 times before my points even go up by one. There is no way a forum of this size would have time to read every post and judge the quality. About all a system like this could do is go by length or perhaps unique keywords in responses to weed out common replies like 'me to'. If you report a post by hitting ! I'm sure they look at those when they get a chance to. Sometimes people rant that trivial discussions should be erased, but that is so subjective as well. An important discussion to me might be completely dull or useless to someone else.

yes, one post of discussion, 1 point, 1 response, 1 point... i don't know what the heck I'm doing in this site, maybe I'm just enjoying the conversations

Well! let's see what shall be done. However, we have nothing to lose.In other words, eaither ways we are the winners as we do get ideas and topics to discuss and from my point of view this is really enough for me to get more Knowledge about what is goin' on around.

let me tell you guys something - i've been here for only 4 days and from these 4 days i've learn't a lot of things. on the first day, i noticed that only when we respond to a discussion,we get points.so i responded to about 20-25 and got 1 cent or less for each. the next day, i started discussions ,and found that i earned more without responding to much discussions. the 3rd day,i found out that keeping your discussion alive is the main part of all. just reply to all the responses whenever you can. and so ,on the 3rd day, i made a bit more than 1 $. total became around 1.5 $ so you see the difference !!

I mailed myLot to ask if rankings and earnings are related. The answer that I got back was "absolutely not, they are two separate things". It appears that they have a special way to rank posts based on quality for the earnings model.

Yeah I've heard a lot of talk about that. Mylot will probably fix it later on if enough people speak up about it.

There should also be a place somewhere that not only explains how the sytem works, but it would be nice to know who the mods are and how to contact them if needed. What happens if I am offended by something, does that get erased? Or no one cares about that sort of thing. or if we are having issues with something not working? Who do we get in contact with? My biggest question is of course the first one... how does this site work, points and such. This definately needs to be explained. Too many people want to know. Hello, any mods out there, want to answer these questions??

How did you determine that a new discussion is only worth one point?
