Starting up a business

My friend has a part time job delivering pizzas but he doesn't get paid much. He wants to start up his own business and he is good with computers. I have suggested to him starting up an Internet based business. I know some people with good businesses like a lady that brings in toys from Germany and sells them a year ahead to the British toy shops. Someone started up e bay and look at how successful that has been. I think my friend could make greetings cards for birthdays, Christmas Time and Valentine's Day.
Do you think it is difficult to start up a business on the Internet?
Is there a better way for my friend to make extra money?

It depends really. You just have to work on it and have more connections. Tell your friends and other people to help you so they would try your products as well. Starting a business on the internet is also great. That's one of the hippiest these days. You just need to be computer savvy. If you're not, seek help from experts. Happy day.

Hi there! How much money does your friend have to invest? Does he have anything in particular that he is passionate about? Any hobbies? Have him do some research to see what is available or better yet, what is lacking and a niche that needs to be filled. I didn't have a ton of money to invest to start my own Internet Business so I looked for a network marketing co. that interested me. My hobby/passion is shopping, love it. So that is what I do. There are so many things out there but he just needs to weigh out the pros and cons of it all. I wish him all the best! Stef

It depends on what your friend does I think and how well he does it. An internet business is definitely possible and also it costs less than having a shop unit to start with. I hope it goes well for him! x

Starting up a business isn't easy, but if it becomes successful, a lot of income can be made. Your friend must apply for a business license. Also, starting up a business can be very expensive, but there are ways to get money, such as grants, business loans, and even going to investors to use their money.
