DDOS attack

I just read in one of the posts here on myLot about what DDOS attack is. One question I would like to ask is if the sites that have had the attack are going to be retrieved after? Please reply if you know the answer. Thank you!

Well first of all the upstream providers have to recover and do something to stop the attacks. Some data will definitely be lost. But it will help if the site in question has a webmaster who regularly backups the website and its database. That's a short answer to a difficult question. Hope it helps.
