I have been reading alot lately fiction, non fiction, and a lot of what not. I was recently reading a story that is fiction but the the main chatacter went through a very elite selection process and in the process she was able to change her name if she chose. Now my question to you is if given the oppurtunity would you change your name? What would you change your name to and why? Does the new name you chose have a story to go with it? If so, what is the story?

If I could change my name legally without any issues and b.s I would change it to Jacqueline Anne..why? because thats the name I was given by my biological mother when I was born..when my adoption became legal my adoptive parental units legally changed it (something I'm NOT pleased about btw)

OH I was just a baby so there was no my having say in it...Plus hindsight being 20/20 even if I DID have say (assuming I was older obviously) theres no way they would have allowed it..The attitude my adoptive mother has about me and my being adopted is actually a very twisted, dysfunctional one..but then again so is she

I'm sorry to hear that about your adoptive mother. You know what I find funny in life is that some people bloom with adversity and make sure to not be anything like what they grew up in. That was me I saw everything my mom and dad did and promised myself I would never do that.

I have to ask so please excuse my nibbiness. How old were you when you were adopted? where you old enough where they could have asked you how you would have felt about it? I like the name Jacqueline Anne it's very pretty.

Yes, if I could I would change my name. I personally feel that my name has no strength, no punch in it. Sudipta means to light up brightly and while many may think is a beautiful name, I find it typically goody goody sacrificial type. There are many names which I adore, names with roll off the tongue beautifully and have a strong character.

Studipta, I have to say your name well suits you because when you enter a discussion you do light it up... Honey just because it means light up brightly doesn't necessarily mean in a goody goody way. LOL!!! Fire lights things up brighly and passionately. Have you ever thought about a heated discussion that you might have lite up in your wake .. or anything else. Your name is strong yet serene when you need it to be. take care hun and remember anything can be strong in beautiful even the softest of names that have the softest of meanings. It's truly the person who makes the name..

I use to have several wanted aliases but now I think I've narrowed it down. It'd either be Kael Skygazer, Tone Kazeno or Rune Hayase (all of these were entered names for first person - main character type games. Namely the Shin Megami Tensei series). Of course if I could walk around as Theprogamer, Galactic Overlord then I'd change my name to that.

Well, I already did, sorta. To ANNIE OAKLEY. It was because I had been called that quite often in my cowgirl days. I now run a huge sheep farm, but when I was a bit younger I used to break and train horses, from breeding to birthing, halter breaking & saddle breaking. My personal horse and I went to the fairs and competed in the speed events, barrel racing, flag race, pole bending. Way fun! That's my story. And ya know what. I don't care if anyone beleives it or not. I KNOW IT IS TRUE. That's all that matters.

LOL!!! I never question anyone's past because it's just that it's their past I take them at face value. But I have one question why don't you do that anymore. Meaning the breaking and training horses and competing. You could always incorperate it with you sheep farm one the side take in one or two horses to train and break if the owners can't do it and charge a decent amount.

I realized several years ago that there was no money to be made having horses. They are just pets that you have to pay all of their expenses for like your housecat or your dog. Everything for them is more expensive than any other livestock, too. You have to pay a farrier to trim their feet every 6 wks at $30 - $40 each time. They eat around $60/mo worth of food alone. You can't charge what it is worth and get it. You are lucky, really lucky to just get your money back on what you spent on them. Never anything for your time and effort. That's why I got rid of most of them and got into sheep. They are a genuine farm income. Nothing for the risk of getting bucked off or killed or maimed. I would like to get barrel racing again at the fairs though with my Paint Mare. I have just recently purchased a cheap 2-horse trailer to take her there, now I just have to find the time. Taking care of a large flock of sheep is not a slouch job. It does take time and work. Plus the paperwork can drown you. As it is, I am taking some of my sheep to the fairs this fall. It takes time and work to get them ready and effort to load them and then showing them is quite an effort, too. I just took 8 sheep to the Barrie Fair 2 wks ago and came home with $280 in prize money. So that trip was worth it. I am also going to the Collingwood Fair because I won the Light Lamb competition last year for a $250 prize. This year I want to win the Heavy Lamb competition for the big $500 prize. Wish me luck. Maybe I'll get to take my horse to the fairs next year.

I just recently changed my screen name in another forum that i use, to go with who i am, i changed it to whatever it takes, it's pretty self explanatory as far as changing my real name i don't know probably not but i guess that's another good thing about getting married, your last name changes.

I wouldn't change my first or middle name. I have been married twice so I have changed my last name a couple of times. My husband didn't have any relationship with his biological father but his last name is all he has ever known. We joke about changing our last name to something funny all the time. He wants to change it to Wicked. lol

well, i like my name since it sounds cool.. hahaha.. but if i were given a chance i would change it to "fuuyuki".. yes, the one i am using in mylot.. ahaha.. so this is my chance, what do you think?.. .. Well, about the story, i don't have one. I just like the name since it means "snow wind"..That is fuu means "wind" and yuki is "snow". Personally, i love the wind, the gentle one of course.. hahha.. since i can feel serenity within, i can breathe more.. and yuki or snow since i've never experience snow and i like to see it with my own eyes. Well, im inclined to japanese names since i am an anime fan..
