No, I do not want this disease. My brother is writing a book and I am researching things for him. Anyway, one of the charactors in his book has a psychological condition in which he can only eat human flesh. He believes that to not eat humans would make him old dead before his time. I know this is a true condition, but I can't find it. Does anyone know? I'm searching for the true terminology and any background I can get. Thanks

Maybe Windigo Psychosis? It's characterized by an intense craving for human flesh.

Windgo...yes, I think this might be it. Thanks so much. I'll have to research it further to see if it is the disorder I am searching for, but it seems closer than any I have come up with. Thanks.

Thank you. that gets me close. In truth this is my fault. My brother is writing book and one of the charactors in this book has this problem. I told Darren that I saw this on an episode of CSI and he asked me to find the clinical name for it. Sigh...I can't find it. This is close but not there. Thanks for trying to help.

Cannabalism?

NO. It's a clinical psychological term for a person who doesn't think they can survive without ingesting human flesh. It's similar to vampirism, but not that. Thanks for the reply, though

I'm not really sure but try Clinical Lycantrophy or Porphyria. Although these disorders are associated with werewolves (Clinical lycantrophy) and vampirism (porphyria), they are psychologically and pathologically existent but very rare. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but i hope it helps. Or you could try to searh for the DSM-IV for psychological disorders like that you have described.

thanks for your help. I've searched the DSM in book form, but it is daunting. I'm just lending a helping hand to my author brother who doesn't want to pay a researcher. LOL. THe DSM is sooooo fascinating, though.

Very close. But Sanguinarian is about blood. I'm looking for flesh. Thanks so much though.

Well, it sounds like an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but it's more specific isn't it? I can't say I've heard of it, I'll do a search.
