I live in the US and the state of IL. Legal drinking age is 21. I am not sure that this should be the case you can drive when you are 16, vote when you are 18 and even join the military and serve your country. So you can risk your life for your country but if when you return and want and yes sometimes need a drink it is not legal. I am not sure what this is really preventing as most of the people I know did most of their drinking while underage and did more bing drinking and drinking in excess prior to turning 21. Just doe not seem right to me because if young folk want to drink they are going to regardless of the laws and I think that many do it because they know they are not supposed to. So maybe if you took away the exiliration of doing something wrong may fewer would.

it's 21 here too, but that's a tough one, because not all 18 year olds join the military, so i think if they have a military id then they should be allowed. and it has to be a real military id not the pass that you can get to go on to a base.
