Ok here is the scoop. I have been calling a past employer last week and this week trying to get my job back... I had that dreadful flu last year and it lasted over 3 weeks. I spoke to the guy in charge he said that If I did a medical termination.. I would be able to re-aplly and get my job back. Well I have been waiting for a very long time.... So after all my calls and speaking to many different folks the Human Resourses Deparment .. I get a call yesterday saying to come in for a rehire interview. I was very excited about it! When I worked for this company before I worked a LOT of overtime. and made very good money. So I go to the interview today, the girl doing the interview would not make eye contact with me.. Then I got the speill that, They will call me and let me know one way or the other.... So they call me at 4:30 this afternoon. saying that they could not rehire me because of my work history..Not having worked for more then 6 months straight.. for circumstances that were out of my control... Well they hired me the first time knowing... my work history.... then she said the dumbest thing ever.. she said that I could get a rehire interview in 6 month... I told her 6 month from now I will not have worked anywhere more then 6 months,,,,

this is absolutely insane - i would talk to the labor board - if it had been some other illness that you KNEW would last for a while - you could have done a medical leave - and they probably would have suggested it to you. do you have doctor appointments from that time? - it would really help when you you get some representation... i would certainly fight this - and then tell them to take their job and......when they rehire you - but i guess that won't work if you have no current prospects...

Well I am trying to move on from this now. I am hoping that what I am supposed to be doing will soon be presented to me.

what jerks, you don't need them, I know when I was working on the phone I would get bronchitis every year and had to take leave of absences.

Sounds like you're going to have to go higher in the management and talk to them about rehiring you for it seems this one who wouldn't make eye contact seemed a bit nervous and afraid you might know more than her and take her job which isn't fair but that's what it appears to me. Find out who the district manager is and go from there. Good luck!

Well you do have another weay of looking at it. I was thinking that she would not look me in the eye because she knew from the begining that she had no plans to hire me back...

it's sad. you're right on the money by interpreting her lack of eye contact as not being able to lie to you. i know you were really excited, too. i'd go higher up, if you can. although HR is usually at the top. as always, best of luck.

I tried. I was a very hard worker. They are always acting like they are so desperate for help. you would think that they would like to have someone there that wanted to work..

Well I really like this one I was in the delinquent billing dept.. they called me I mostly took payments. I never had to make any harassing calls.
