On a scale of 1-10, how much do you trust people?

It takes a lot for someone to earn my trust. So I'm going with a 2. When you meet new people, some tend to believe they automatically become your new friend when actually they are only an acquaintance. It takes time to build a relationship and you must learn to trust one another before you can actually claim a friendship. Over the years I have learned to keep my distance from many people because of trust issues. I've learned 'who' I can say 'what' to so it doesn't come back to haunt me at a later date.

I can honestly say I do not trust people easily because I have been hurt by friends in the past and it takes a lot for them to earn my trust,I would say when I first meet someone I am like a two,but if they can prove to me that I can trust them then I will trust them, one of my friends used to use me for money, and always lied,he appears to have changed but I still do not trust him completely, whereas one of my best friends has never given me reason to not trust him,and we always help each whenever we can.

I would also give 7.5 on the scale of ten. This I consider my weak point that I trust everyone very easily. Sometimes, my calculation go entirely wrong and I pay the price for trusting a stranger. On the other hand, I feel you cannot distrust everyone, you need to catch a middle path, as far as trusting others is concerned. I can vouch for me that I am very trustworthy and I do not breach anybody's trust, if bestowed upon me.
