How to play a rip file?? Please suggest a good software

Hello, I have downloaded a movie but its a rip file and I have tried to play with almost every player I know.Can anobody suggest me a freeware or a shareware to play this rip file. I have Googled and searched the wikipedia but didn't find the useful stuff!! Hope Someone would surely resolve my this problem.
