Two people have been seeing each other for 6 months, casual relationship, no commitments. One day girl leaves boy a note saying she loves him. Next day, they are eating lunch in a restaurant and the waitress brings a basket of bread. Girl eats a piece of bread. Boy gets all mad at girl because her meal did not come with bread. Waitress says this is true but that she brought enough bread for both people anyway. Boy is all bent out of shape because girl doesn't agree with him that she wasn't entitled to the bread. Stomps off and doesn't talk to girl for a week. Girl finally approaches boy. Bread fight is never mentioned. Boy mentions note, says he loves girl, agrees to be exclusive. Eventually they break up. Girl never finds out what bread fight was really about. Was it really just about bread or was there something else going on there? Opinions?

I definitely sounds like it wasn't just about the bread, but I honestly have no idea what it was about. I think they should have discussed it instead of pretending like it never happened. Most relationships that go like that won't last.

Girl left "I love you" note way to soon. Boy used bread for excuse to leave girl loafing.
