To be honest from what I have heard from friends that have been involved with them, I don't think I like them very much and I don't agree that they should be allowed to go door to door that is an invasion of another persons space...sorry

I don't like the deceptive way they go door to door either. I have encountered mormon missionaries a few times while out walking my dog, house-hunting, etc. and they always ask if I know which house Julie lives in, or Sam, etc. It is then that I tell them I'm on to them. They're not really looking for that person, they're here to talk about the LDS. Then I let them know there are not three levels of heaven and I tell them I'm sorry they've been brainwashed and I walk away.

It's not hatred at all. It's frustration over how there are so many gullible people out there who are falling for these LDS lies and deceptions hook, line and sinker. It's discouraging to see how the church presents itself as a Christian religion -when it clearly is not- to get people to join and it's not until much further down the road that these poor souls actually learn the truth about this religion that they bought into.

I am a Mormon and it is through the churchs teachings that I have found peace in my life. I am much happier and better able to deal with lifes trials.

I read the book of Mormon, and I'm sorry, but you could tell it wasn't inspired by anyone other than Smith. I mean it's really long and detailed in the beginning, but towards the end it's really fast paced. Also, it is not historically accurate. I also have copies of the first BOM and it's not the same as the BOM they give out today. Hope this helps.

As a former LDS Elder there is not a lot about the Church that I do not understand but I did want to answer a comment on a the question of 'becoming a God.' The LDS church teaches that if you are a worthy (read: faithful to LDS doctrine) Priesthood holder that you and your spouse will one day progress far enough to become 'gods,' they do NOT believe that they will replace God. This belief also exists (in a somewhat different form) in the Orthodox Churches of Christianity, where it is called 'Theosis.' In essence the doctrine of Theosis teaches that as human beings become more and more the image of God they take on the characteristics of God, that is, they are not BECOMING God so much as becoming LIKE God. The Anglican writer, C.S. Lewis, once wrote words to the effect that we "may become in the future so full of God's light that, were we to meet our future selves, we might be tempted to worship." Intellectually, the doctrine makes a good deal of sense to me.

Hey, Why are there not more questions for you than they are?? I would think that alot of the nonmembers would be here to ask questions. I am a member and have been since 1993. I love the church and have found so much peace in my life since I have joined. I still have problems and trials but I am better at dealing with them.

I am a member of The Church Of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints and it has changed my life for the better. It has given me the strength to keep going when life gets hard. It has given me so much peace in my life. I had questions as a child that my church was not able to answer. The answer was "God doesnt expect us to know everything". I heard that alot. After Studying the gospel, I found answers to most of those questions. I did not join till 1993 but I love the peaceful feeling and the knowledge that I have found.
