i believe that happiness is just a state of mind. being contented in what you have and what you are at the present will make you happy but ofcourse it doesnt mean that there are no room for changes in one's present situation. a person ca be happy but not contented, a person can be contented but not so happy because he has no other choice. i think its all about how you look at it, your perspective with your life.its all about giving importance of the things that you posess and the blessings that you receive everyday because i see a lot of people today that has so much yet still, has a reason to complain about their lives, why just cant they look, appreciate and value what they have. even try to compare their lives with people from other countries, street children, kids from orphanages, home for the aged, etc. its okay to strive for the better things in life but i dont thing we do not have the right to complain with what we have in our lives, just think of it as a way to save yourself from the emotional stress from complaining too much on what you do not have. appreciate the real beauty of life. dont just exist, LIVE! the best things in life are free so do not take 'em for granted and appreciate what you have :) happy posting :)

Awesome post! Me and my partner fight from time to time about silly things, such as the area we live in, lack of money etc and i will always throw the "we're living luxurious lives compared to the biggest part of the population of the world." ball at her. I'm so appreciative of every day i have y'know. I might not spend my time going out there and being my adventure, infact i spend most of my time in doors with my daughter or on the PC but none the less i enjoy every second of what i do and it keeps me smiling throughout the day.

This is a very good post, and to the most part I do agree with it.I am pretty content with what I do have, and do not really try to complain much, because as you say, I know that there are so many people worse off than me.I do have everything I need, not all I want. The Lord fullfills all my needs. But I have been disabled for 22 years and in pain all of the time. When your health is bad,and will never get better, it is very hard to be happy. But I know I am blessed to be alive.

thanks :) yes i agree, people should look at the things that they have and appreciate more instead if whining and complaining or if there's a really bad situation, we can just view it as a positive challenge in order for us to get going throught the journey of life. let's appreciate what life gives that is free and appreciate the blessings that we get everyday. :) take care
