I have a 9 month old and she is getting too old for the bottle. We need to which to sippy cups. We started with the Advent "magic cups" and she didn't like them. We want something bpa free too. Does anyone have any advice, are you sure they are BPA free? Please help me out. My husband won't just buy one, but he won't do the research either. I don't know what I am doing anymore then t=him.

Just keep offering the cup. 9 months is really not too old for the bottle. I would worry about switching around the age of 1. 9 months is a bit early to do an abrupt switch. The cup is something new and the little ones don't easily take to it anyway. Just keep trying. Anyhow, I don't know much about the 'magic cups' but one of the problems we had with ours (we had a different brand, which I bought seven years ago and they lasted nicely until now our third one is done with them) were the flow stoppers, the thing that prevents spills when the cup is turned upside down. Because the little ones have to suck hard on that in order to get the milk out, they don't take that easily to the cup as you would think. We ended up taking them out for a while and just watching them and making sure they don't turn it upside down. Once they got used to the cup, we put it back in there. Ours were removable, not all brands have that. You can also buy training cups, which don't have a flow stopper. Just give it time. And really, 9 months is quite early to switch and definitely not too old for the bottle. Introduce the cup slowly. She'll take to it eventually.

Oh, I know it is just time to introduce the sippy, not quite get rid of the bottle, but she is developing fast. So we have to keep on our toes, as I am sure with most kids this age! That is good advice, that is the trouble she is having with the stopper. Even when we ue them we are like, this isn't really easy to get the stuff out. We should try that.
