i've lived in 4 states. which means i've had access to many different ice cream companies, as well as the larger manufacturers. in PA, we have a small place that makes whitehouse cherry ice cream. it's one of my favorites and i've never been able to get it anywhere else. it is vanilla ice cream with maraschino cherry. most of the other kinds is "pink" ice cream with cherry. the vanilla makes a distinct taste when mixed with cherries. have you seen or eaten this type? what is the name of it? whitehouse ?

OH yea I know what you're talking about. There was once a company around here in PA called Steese's that made it. It was my grandfathers absolute favorite and he passed the love for it down to me. And yes it is called Whitehouse. A very delectable ice cream!

I'm not sure, I lived out west for a year and never saw it or heard it mentioned out there. Which then again I never heard of Chipped ham or Wedgies out there either. Pennsylvanians definaltely have our own language.
