fear about todays hydron collider experiment

Although I have mixed feelings about it, I do think today is an exciting day. We will learn new things from the experiment over the coming months and years. It is an ongoing project, today is just the start of it. If some of the knowledge gained from the project can be put to good use in the future it will be worthwhile. I hope as much effort and expense will be put into solving environmental problems caused by our impact on the planet.

This is really interesting, isn't it? I was interested about LHC after reading Angels and Deamons by Dan Brown. We will have to wait for some time for real experiment.

No reason to be scared :D Anyway, today they didn't make the most interesting experiment where the beams collide but they only made to circulate a single beam as a preliminary test. We have to wait a few weeks for the main experiments ;-)
