Usually one's origin can be identified through his name. The name Hans usually came from a German country and the name Greta is usually from a Dutch place. The names Batumbakal usually came from Malayo-Polynesian countries like my own..Juan, Carlos, Miguel and Rafael usually came from Spanish countries..John, Jane, and Peter usually came from English countries and Francois is obviously from France..How about in your place? What's the most famous name? Care to share some thoughts?

I think the most famous name in our place is "Marie" or "Kristine" and other versions of it like Cristina, Cris, Kristel, Krisna, Krizza.. names like that. Marie is commonly used as "additional name" like "Kristel Marie", "Joanna Marie".

Ours is Juan or Juan Dela Cruz. It is the icon for a Filipino (Philippines). Old people were named like Marya, Juana, Isko and others but now we are more inclined with English names like Anne, Marie, Stephanie, etc.
