Doesn't Look Like Brenda Will be Back Afterall

"Any hopes GH had of getting Vanessa Marcil?Brenda back have been put on hold due to her casting in a recurring role on Lipstick Jungle. She'll play Josie, who is Shane's pretty and ambitious manager who wants him and it causes tension for Shane and Wendy's marriage. She debuts in late October. Even though the role is recurring, since Lipstick Jungle tapes in NYC, it would be difficult to pop into GH which tapes in L.A."
I am personally not too upset by this. She had a good couple of runs on GH, Let's move on now. Finito. Sonny has enough drama in his life right now. What do you think? Would you like her back? Or do you agree, her day on GH id done???

I can't think of any reason her coming back would be such a major event. She was good in the early days, but her last return didn't impress me. I think that sometimes people get nostalgic for the way things used to be, and then are let down at the reality of the way things are now. Unless there is some exciting storyline waiting, I think her time is up in Port Charles.

I agree. Her last return sucked! I hated how it was so obvious that Vanessa Marcil was only going to be there for a certain amount of time, yet all the stories basically stopped and became all about Brenda.
Nostalgia or not, I do want Laura back on the show. Genie Francis is still a great actress, the moments she has come back, the writing was good for the character. Her return would really shake up some things, especially with Lulu and Luke/Tracy.

But I thought GH was filmed in New York? Why? YEARS AND YEARS ago, when Scotty and Laura got married, they went to LA on their honeymoon and at that time it was a big deal in day time shows to film off location so it was a big thing for them to say they film in NewYork and sent them out htere on location. Plus, I thought all ABC soaps were filmed in NY. AMC is I know that for sure. I thought I heard Steve Burton's travel issues were cause he lived so far from NYC.

General Hospital is the only ABC soap filmed in LA. AMC and OLTL are filmed in NY. It sounds confusing because the show's setting is Port Charles, NY. I think Steve Burton's travel issues are because he lives about a few hours away from the GH set. Sometimes they film late into the night and he'd rather crash at Bradford Anderson (Spinelli)'s place rather than make that drive home, only to drive back in the morning. It would be crazy if GH were filmed in NY and he traveled by plane everyday just to film, considering he's on almost everyday so he has a heavy filming schedule. I remember when Kimberly McCullough left GH momentarily to attend New York University. They were only able to give her scenes during college breaks because of the travel and distance issues.

Of course he couldn't fly it. I thought they were both in NYC. Yes traffic is horrible out here in LA. 2 hours to go 50 miles.

I lost track of her a long time ago. I did enjoy her on the Las Vegas show. I am more interested in Tristan Rogers...could he, would he come back. Since Scorpio is "in Port Charles having chemotherapy" why not??
