On the plight in West Bengal

Atlas of West Bengal makes me sad and I am sadder at the sight of the character of the people residing in this part of the eastern India, particularly of the urban people. They are naturally idle and their political leaders, mainly the "communists", have taught them not to take anything seriously and they seem to be ignorant of the substances although they claim and show that they know everything and that they can solve all the problems of the world. Surprisingly Bengal had sons like Vidyasgar, Rabindranath and Subhaschandra. Will you please discuss what are the reasons behind this plight in Bengl ?
