Just kinda wondering where you all stand on this topic...Do you beleive that Homebirths are safe? Safe as a hospital birth? Do you think that hospital births are not safe? What are your feelings on this.......

I gave birth to all my kids in the hospital. I wouldn't dream of it any other way. I feel it's much safer to be near all those life-saving equipment just in case something goes wrong. But that's just me. I have a cousin who gave birth to her two girls at home. I think she's very brave to consider that and I admire her for her strength and fearlessness. I guess the choice of where to give birth will depend on each individual. After all, we are the ones who knows best what's good for us.

Obviously I have no personal experience on the subject, but I get the impression that with scrupulous planning, contingencies and adequate resources they could be. That said, it's a hell of a lot of criteria to meet, factors to account for, expenses to deal with and sundry other issues to resolve. I think if someone really wants a home birth they have to consider the situation in detail, plan meticulously, seek professional advice to ensure that it is as safe and painless (literally and metaphorically!) an experience as possible. If someone wanted a safe home birth, it would be up to them to secure that safety. If you're serious about bringing a child into this world, I personally feel you should be prepared to accept what that entails. Safety is just one aspect.

In earlier days home birth was very usual and it was safe also. My mother delivered all of her children (four) at home. There was no problem. Now the technology has grown up and nobody can think about a homebirth. In my knowledge all births are taken place in hospitals. The other important thing is cesarean sections increased. Some are not able to deliver by natural and referred for cesarean and some others are opted for it, just avoiding the pain. Regarding safety, at the present situation I felt that hospital birth is safe. Earlier there were less complications but presently it is very high. After all it is the case of two lives so we have to be careful and let us choose the safest method.

Well homebirth is not verysafe for me,you going to take a risk on it.In terms of sanitation hospital provide better than home. And in case of emergency, coz we don not know what might happen during the delivery of the baby hospital is ready for any situation. Unlike if you are at home you need to travel to the hospital for emergency.Happy myloting!

Home birth are not really unsafe but compared to hospital birth, it can just be unsanitary. Also, hospital, of course, have complete equipments than a regular home. If complication arises, then it would be easy. Also, home births are usually done by midwives. In hospitals, you are sure that doctors will perform the birthing operation.
