I want to start my paypal acct. but I've never had one before. I know the site is secure but I don't undestand how it works. I tried earlier to create the acct. but was asked for a paypal email. Can someone please tell me what that is? Can it be an existing email or do I need to create a new one just for paypal?? Thanks for your help.

It can be an existing email addy just choose an email that you can check your spam and make sure to add them to your safelist.

It is just so that it does not go to spam or bulk mail. Pretty much just add them to your contacts list. Happy MyLotting! Kat

Oh, ok. I have a g-mail acct. I used to use when I was a rep. for Avon but I don't use it for that anymore. All I get there is info. from Vista Print. That would be a good place to go.

yes you can use any existing email you have. but it's better if you create a new one and make it secure by giving the specific and genuine user name and strong password. it's important that you are the only one know how to open the email, as your email account will be use as your paypal account. so, your email user name will be your paypal user name. but your email password don't need to be your paypal password. you can choose new strong and secret password for paypal, as having your paypal user name and password, you or everyone else will have unlimited access to your account, can do transaction, transfer, send and withdraw money. so, make sure that the lucky person is only you

exactly! your email password has nothing to do with your paypal password. they should be completely different.

Let me make sure I have this right. If I create a new email acct. say in g-mail, my username will be my paypal username but the password will be different so no one can access my acct. Is that correct??

It can be both. I would prefer setting up an email account just for paypal to keep records of payment. Free webmail accounts such as yahoo, hotmail, gmail offer excellent service.

I have a current g-mail acct. that is no longer used for it's original purpose so I can probably use that acct. I have another question. Someone told me that paypal charges you a % to use it for purchases like on ebay or to transfer to your checking acct. Do you know anything about this? Thanks for the help.
