If you were given the chance to choose whether to be born in this world or not, even before you were born, what would you choose? What things made your life worth living?

Hmmmm that is a tough one. I read a fantasy novel once which suggested that we not only choose to be born but we choose the parents we will be born to and so choose the path in life that we follow. Interesting thought. I like to think that I chose my current life path as a learning tool. I suppose it is a Buddhist idea in a way. They say that karma determines the life we will be born to but karma does not dictate how we live that life only the choice of parents. No I don't think that it is possible to choose your parents but I may be wrong but I do think we choose to live life on the material plane as a learning experience for the soul. The things that make life worth living are love, love of parents for children, friends for each other. There are so many kinds of love and they are all beautiful. It is our ability to love for others that makes human's what they are. Well there are some that are ruled by greed but they are empty inside. Interesting I was just thinking that we are unique in our love for others but I am not so sure that we are. I have seen animals care for their young and there is that special bond that humans can have with animals. Yes I think our dog loves us, not the way that humans love but they have feelings that it so obvious and I have seen when their feelings are hurt. To me that is the one thing that makes life worth living and yes I know what it is like to seriously think about ending it all when I was depressed but I didn't. Losing love can make us miserable and experiencing it makes everything perfect.
