Do you think watching anime is just for kids? If you're still watching Anime, when was it when you started liking it and how old are you now? I started liking anime when I was in my early twenties.. right now I'm 33 and since I have other things do, I rarely watch anime anymore. :(

ever since i was a kid i like watching cartoons and during those times anime' is not the fad, now that i am still a kid i still like watching cartoons but with the advent of anime i also came to like it and this time like it better. this anime thing on me was started by the one called ghost fighter then came the basketball crazy sakuragi of slam dunk and the dragon ball series. to answer your question directly, i think no, watching anime's is also for grown ups. greetings. : )

Yo moneymind! We both grew up with Mazinger Z, and Voltes V and Daimos and other super robots that I fail to remember now. Then came the craze for Ghost Figher (Yu Yu Hakusho) on local TV and everyone, child and adult went gaga in front of the TV just to watch the "bakbakan". Funny, I can still recall a quote from a Jeepney driver where I was riding home. "Put*** traffic ito! Magsisimula na ang ghost fighter!" More than a few shared our laughters back then. hehe.

Anime is very different from other cartoons, it caters to everything. When i mean everything i really mean everything. Just like in a real movie or tv, they have for kids and for adults. And when i mean adults i mean really adult movies if you know what i mean.

I began watching anime when I was 12. I still watch them, and I have no shame into saying that because I don't think they're just for kids. :)

i think there are anime for kids and anime for adult...its the way the storyline is structured. kids have a shorter attention spans so there are animes that have storylines which are resolved in 30min. where other animes have storylines that streach out through several episodes...like how a normal live action drama would go about.

Precisely. I like movies that are high quality in everything. I also like serial anime which could be my daily soap.

I don't think that anime are just for kids... I'm almost 20 and I love them with the same passion that I felt at the start. After all, there are a lot of anime that kids must not see. Something like Evangelion, or Fullmetal Alchemist...There are anime for every age...

There's just something magical about anime that mesmerized me the first time I saw one (sadly, I forgot what was the title of it). It's very different from the Disney, Hanna Barbera or Warner cartoons that we used to watch on the tube. Probably because of the new, unique, beautiful character designs, the deep story and new elements we have never experienced before.
