the fact will remain that i do not smoke and i will never smoke. 99% of my friends smoke, and i am used to be surrounded by people who smokes a lot. and i ask them "dont you want to quit smoking?" and they would answer, "its hard to quit smoking eventhough i wanted to..." then at tah back of my head i just think, you came to this world without smoking and we have lived without smoking and now they tell me its hard to quit smoking? i was thinking, ts just all in the head, mind over matter, its all about will power, if you want it you can do it. i beleive people such as my friends give themselves reason to smoke; it has been a habit and they got hooked. i have seen on campaigns and televisions the harmful effect of smoking not just to ourselves but also to the environment and other people. there are a lot of reasons to quit smoking just by thinking of your personal health, so what more if you also consider other people and your surroundings.i know i should mind my business but i get so irritated at times whe my surroundings is filled with bad smoke and i am also concerned for other people especially to the environment. is it really that hard to quit smoking?

I don't think it's that difficult at all really, seeing as it's more of a habit than it is an addiction. Sure you'll get the odd craving here and there but that generally only lasts about a minute then it's gone and you forget about it. I think what makes it harder is people telling you that it's difficult to quit, when really it isn't and people telling you you'll never do it. You just have to keep yourself occupied and break the habit by doing something else instead. If you keep your mind focused on other things you'll find that you don't even think about it and then you'll notice you feel better in yourself, healthier and have more money in your pocket!

yeah i agree but people tend to react so much when they are in the process of quitting, and i totally agree, just keep yourself busy and try not to think about it and live your life just like it should. yeah i forgot about that, if you quit smoking, youd be able to have much money in your pocket :) thanks for posting newbie

my entire family are smokers. i started smoking when i was about to graduate college. now, considering i work during the night, it is a way for me to release stress and to keep me awake. but i will definitely quit smoking soon.
