I live in Kentucky and as of yesterday gas prices were at $3.98/gallon. Don't know if they have risen any today or not, since have stayed inside all day, been going through some really high winds here at the moment, so when they calm down will try to venture out to see if they have risen again.

The question is why are gas prices so high? It is not due to an oil shortage as there is plenty of oil in the world. We have to look at our own energy policy and our governments failure to develop our own natural resources. Our government is getting in the way of developing new sources of energy and using all the resources we have here in this country. There is also the medias promotion of scarcity of oil and the lack of our governments development of all our resources. There is also the promotion of the myth of global warming that is preventing us from developing all our natural resources. I agree that we must do everything we can to get off foreign oil but our government is getting in the way of the development of an efficent energy policy for our nation which hurts all of us. Yes we must develope new forms of energy but the first thing we need to do is get the politicians that stop our development of our own sources of energy out of Washington. We have a political problem not a resource problem.

Hello Bugboy, What you say is true, but unless we can get more people to speak up about this, the tiny whisper that it is right now, will only remain a tiny whisper. I don't for one second believe everything I hear on the news about environment and politics. Too many times they like to use scare tactics to make people bend. Though there might be some progress in the issue of high gas prices, at least in my area, from what I have been told the Senator of Kentucky got a law passed that gas prices within the state can't be raised any higher than what they are right now. So far it seems to be holding true, Sunday it was $3.98/per gallon, and it has set there since. Will have to see what the week brings. Keeping fingers crossed that it holds true, cause really tired of the rollercoaster we all have been on and I don't even drive that much, so can only imagine what others are feeling that drive a whole heck of a lot.
