How do I change my avatar?

Okay will somebody please help the dummy and tell her how to change her avatar? I've been all over my profile and edit my profile pages and I'm still at a loss. I just know it's going to be so simple a 5 year old could do it; but I'm not a 5 year old. I need a little help please. Thank You.

Well, you aren't the only one.
All you have to do is go to the top left where it says "preferences" in blue.

Shhhh....don't tell anyone. I figured out how to do it about 2 seconds after I posted this discussion. LOL. Thank you for helping me out anyway.
