Do you usually give a goodbye kiss to your wife/husband or children when your going to the office or alike? Why do we give them a good bye kiss? Does it gives to your family a security that you'll be ok and you're coming back? om my part i do give kiss goodbye to say to my sons that mom will be back soon and that they will be ok... How about you? do you give a goodbye kiss as a routine or there is always a meaning on it?

I always give my husband a kiss goodbye before he leaves for work. My daughter gets one before the school bus comes. I think people give a kiss goodbye just to make sure their loved ones know they are loved and to reassure that love will still be there when then get back. It's just another way of saying I love you.

Hi Cecelgay, I always give a kiss good bye and even a hug too. I do not do that to let them know all will be ok or that I am coming back. I do that because it is true, I do love them, but also just in case I do not come back. You never know what will happen that day, maybe for reasons you will never see them again and at least you had that one last chance to say that you love them and to give them a kiss good bye. When I was a child, we started this tradition or way of leaving because we all lost that one last chance to say these things to a member of our family. We never gave that hug, kiss and love you good bye to to her and because of that we just made it away of our lives to make sure we gave that time to each other. I now even have my in-laws doing the same. Weather it is on the phone or in person, I will always say I love you, good bye. If it is in person I will say that and give them a hug and kiss too.

yup, its a must though as I grew up, my parents sort of let go of that tradition. Now I am teaching my daughter to do the same when we leave and when we get home. I like the feeling.

I ALWAYS give kisses to them when i leave, even if its just to run to the store real quick. I cant say the same for hubby. If my son or I dont ask for one, we dont get one..i think it might be a man thing...lol.

Whenever my boyfriend and I leave eachother, no matter where we are, we always give each other a kiss goodbye. I think the main purpose we do it is to let one another know we love them. I mean you never know when you walk out the door, if that's going to be the last time you walk out that door. Does that make sense? I never want to be somewhere and say to myself 'oh my gosh I didn't kiss him goodbye! or i didn't say i love you!' So I guess you can say for me it's very routine but there is also meaning behind it. Happy my lotting!

i do. i'd kiss my parents when i leave the house. just to give them the security that i love them. cuz when i go out of the house, i have my own world (at work and with friends). that whatever i do and whoever am with, home is where the heart is. though am already old enough, i still kiss them. =)
