Help the newbies

I hope this discussion hasn't already been started. Can we help all us newbies out and maybe have a seminar of sorts on PTC? I have just recently started and am kind of overwhelmed. I have a few questions that maybe some other newbies out there could use the answer to also. For instance, how does buying/renting referrals work? Where do the referrals you buy/rent come from? Do they only count on the site that you bought/rented them from? Is it a good investment? How long does it normally take to reach a payout of $5 or more? Most sites I've joined only pay miniscule amounts so I've been sitting here all day long clicking and made about 50 cents total. Any other newbies out there want to join in on this discussion? All help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yea i just joined this myself tonight and am curious on how it works. I guess i need to add more interests that way i can be involved in more discussions to make money. How many of these discussions have you done to make just 50 cents?
