hi yadav, too much usage of computer affects the eyes the most and also it causes back pain. now a days filters are used in front of the computer screen to reduce the effect of the computer on the screen. likewise to avoid the back pain the person should sit in the correct height in front of the screen. happy mylotting!

i think the first thing/body that could be affected is our eyes, what i do after my long time on my computer i would see to it that i wont wash my face immedaitely even if its so oily already, cause they say that it makes your eyes to be ill.

Hi yadav8797, I expect it is very bad for your body sitting in one position for long hours, if you can sit and lean back against the soft chair lik your sofa when You have a LapTop or if you are on the main computer you have to try and sit in a high back chair and stick a cushion behind you. As for you eyes just rest them from time to time, it is bad for your eyes use eye drops for tired eyes. Tamara

Yes, it does affect your body if you overuse it. Have you heard of RSI?? Well thats exactly the term used for these kind of disorders or injuries. RSI stands for Repetitive Stress Injuries. When you get some injury due to some repetitive stress, for instance, your wrist might be injured due to wrong posture, if your keyboard is not ergonomically designed. For cure you should see your doctor. But as they say "PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN THE CURE". We all should take necessary steps to avoid RSI.

Of course it will be harmful for the health. Obviously overusing the computer will have a bad effect on your eyesight and shoulder or back. Since you sit in front of the computer for a long time, you are unable to do more exercise and that's worse to your health. I love China

It sure does effect your eyes as well as back. Better use specially designed for you chair to avoid back pain and for eye strain it is said that you need to take your eyes of computer every hour for about 15 min. I never practised taking my eyes off computer though.

Hi there yadav8797 Well I have been suffering with dizzy spells so I went to the doctor and he sent me off for all sorts of blood tests. They all came back to say that I was ok. I am now wondering if it is because of the computer and I should go back and see him again.

There is definately side effects to working on the computer constantly...but then again, so is anything else in this life...too much of any thing is bad ;D Eyes: Glare from your computer screen can cause "eye strain", which in turn causes pain in and around the eye, headaches and even blurred vision. This can affect your eyesight in the long term. Some remedies: - Don't spend extended periods in front of the computer ;D - Get special computer glasses from an optomotrist, that stops glare - Keep the refresh rate of your screen above or equal to 70mhz, to avoid flickering ( especially on older screens ) - Use largeish font Hands, Elbows & Wrists: Carpul tunnel, Tennis elbow, Repetetive strain injury (RSI), is all common occurrances with people that work a lot with computers. What it means, is that your joints become inflamed and painfull from doing the same motion, very fine motions or motions in a bad position over and over. Some remedies: - Don't spend extended periods in front of the computer ;D - Get a proper Keyboard and mouse, that gives good support for your wrists - Keep your hands in a proper position while typing (Dont bend the wrist at an angle to the side). This is why the Microsoft keyboards key's, is layed out in an arch, instead of a straight line. In general, a "good posture", can usually help a lot. Back-aches, head-aches, neck-aches and joint pains can all come from having a bad posture when sitting in front of the computer. The proper height of a chair, is determined by looking at the angle of your legs. Your knee should not bend more or less than 90 degrees, meaning the bottom of your upper leg, should rest properly on the seat of the chair. Don't slump ;D I hope this makes sense and gives some insight. I'm no expert, but this is the basics that I know...

Note: overuse of anything is bad! I used filtered glass in my computer to prevent overexposure to radiation. Then when I'm outside or in other internet cafe i wear my anti-radiation eyeglass to save my eyes.

Ah yes. Sitting all day in front of the computer, and you will get fat!!!! Your behind will spread, your tummy will puff out, and your legs will get weak through lack of exercise. It will also affect your eyes. If your monitor refresh rate is not correct, it will have a hypnotic effect on you and you will feel that you are going into a trance. The best thing is to not sit in front of the computer all day, and take frequent breaks. Half an hour to an hour at a time is plenty.

The eyes is the most affected, so a computer screen should be placed, to decrease radiation exposure. Rest for the eyes every now and then should also be done, as the length of computer exposure could cause strain to the eyes and if this isn't attended to, it will eventually lead to poor eye sight or damaged eyesight. Sometimes body posture suffers too, especially is the computer table and chair are not ergonomically matched. Muscle strain may result. A good massage and a matched pair of table and computer table will solve the problem.

Hi! yes it can affect you body and health, your eyes is number one that are mostly affected by it, also your lungs... too much exposure to computer radiation will cause you to have spot on your lungs, that's why the lcd monitor is introduce because it has a lesser radiation than the old model... When it comes to body sitting for most of the time in the whole day will make your belly big, hehehe that was they are saying...

I say it does, it bothers my wrist, my eyes, and my behind. I sit so long I have a pillow in my chair. Yet I still just sit here for hours. I love my computer it really is my company. I live alone, and on the weekend that is what I do, I need to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise.

Well there are many adverse effects on the body. But precautions and remedies are there for those who sit a lot on the PC,or those whose work is entirely of the PC.Now sitting in a wrong position will definitely lead to backaches,if not now,in your later years you will definitely get back problems for sitting in a wrong position.Si you should strengthen your back by doing appropriate back exercises to strengthen your back. Also you should not sit continuously on the PC.After every 15-20 mins ,get up and walk around a bit. Also sit in an upright position while working on the PC. The other thing that can get your body affected is your eyes.Try and get an anti glare glass to cover your screen. This will reduce radiation from your monitor screen alot.Your eyes will not get much affected also
