google index

can someone please tell me a bit about google indexing? do i need to aaply for it if i am on a blogging site? Or is it only if i have to host my own blog?

Wow. Everything snowythechna said. lol. I just wanted to add that although it sounds annoying, it is very easy to get approved, especially if you have a blogger blog. i got indexed a month after starting my blog.
