Is anyone interested in the beauty of the Peacock?

Hand Painted Peacock Fan - This is a large vintage Burwood fan that I bought at an auction. Burwood only made their home decor items in one color, brown. How dull is that. As soon as I saw the fan come up for auction, all I could see was a Peacocks Feathers. I took the fan home and painted it myself to resemble the feathers of a peacock. I have since then searched, ordered, found and bought 20 or more of these same fans and am in the process of painting them. Of course, all I see is Peacock Feathers. Perhaps someone else can see other colors for it.

I wonder if anyone else is as infatuated with the beauty of the male Peacock. I don't know exactly what made me fall in love with this beautiful creature, perhaps I used to chase them as a little girl when my Daddy took me to the zoo. They used to be seen all over the zoo back then. I recently took my grandchildren to the zoo and I asked my granddaughter to keep an eye out for a peacock. She said, "Maybe I can get you another tail feather for your collection." I have a large tall vase, beautifully hand painted by another artist friend of mine, Jan. I have some of my peacock feathers standing so majestic in all of their beauty. You can also see some of the peacock feathers in that vase in this photo. Could anyone else be as obsessed as I am over this amazing work of art by the greatest artist ever, God?

Welcome to mylot! I have always loved the peacock myself and it is amazing to watch the male prance around a group of females showing off the way they do! In some cultures the peacock feather is seen as bad luck though! Apparently it is compared to the "evil eye" so many people will not dare to put peacock feathers in their homes or anywhere near them for that matter!
