Did I just say that?

Your a parent now, have you found yourself saying those things you vowed you'd never say that your parents did, or do what you said you'd never do, that your parents did? I have 4 young kids and I don't think I've said anything I vowed I wouldn't yet, but there is lots of time, my oldest is only 6. I have however spit washed my kids face when nothing else was available, something my mom used to do to me and I just hated it. I was in the middle of doing it when I realized what I was doing, ugg, gross!

*LOL* I think as parents we have all caught ourselves doing or saying something we swore we would never do or say. My favorite was always, Do you want me to give you something to cry about? I never did say that one to my kids but, I did hear myself saying one day, Do you two want a spanking? In my mind I was thinking, oh, sure, Mom, see how fast we are rushing to you to get one? Just wait until yours are older. You will find yourself thinking or saying or doing more and more things you swore you never would.

My son is only 9 months old now. So i never yet say those words that my mother said to me when i was young. Hope not or else i may sound like her!

Well my kids are 14, 13 and 9 so I've had plenty of time to break my own golden rule, never to sound like my mum...I cringe when I hear my mothers words come out of my mouth to my own kids LOL
