With all the craziness happening at work (IT organization looking at major restructuring, outsourcing, etc.), at least the company is doing something to help the people who are being cut loose and even those who may not be.
Yesterday there was a half day class on resume writing and another on interviewing. So now I have to go back and use what I've learned and update my (very outdated) resume.
One thing I did get from the second session yesterday that was very positive was regarding my interviewing skills. 20 some years ago I was absolutely petrified about interviews (being on either side of one). I was coming out of being pretty painfully shy, I guess. Years and experience and being prepared have helped me a lot with that. We did a mock interview yesterday and I did pretty well.
If I do get cut loose, with a little practice and preparation I think that I will be fine.
Now I just have to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! :-)
