Heath Ledger vs Jack Nicholson(Best Joker)

That's a pretty tough call; I liked both performances for different reasons. I thought that Jack Nicholson was a classic Joker in the same frame as the character on the old TV series. Meanwhile, Ledger's Joker was sinister and dark, plotting and delibrate. I think that in the end I would say that Nicholson was better, seeing as how he was more of a Joker to me. Ledger's performance was awesome, but my image of the Jokoer will always be of Nicholson's portrayal.

My friend told me it's a generation issue. I agree with him because if Jack Nicholson would be playing the part of Joker now, there's a great possibility that he can play the part a lot better than Heath Ledger.

Welcome to mylot joshuagore! I think that they both chose to play the Joker character in such different ways and so effectively in each case that it is really difficult to pick one over the other! Heath Ledger would probably win the title as the best Joker in my eyes though because he added a really interesting maniacal twist to the character. Jack Nicholson chose to be more humorous with the character than Heath Ledger which was also great; but I think Ledger's way of bringing across the insanity was more credible. I hope he wins an Oscar for this because he definitely deserves it!
