My dad used to spank us because its his way of discipline, i don't understand that before but now i think it worked for us. I don't really recommend it but now teens are more rebellious, i heard children now shouting to there parents. I think they have to be taught how to respect and parents should start establish dominance, we have different approach and that is my dads way and he let us know why.

We do spank when needed, our son is 4 so he has never needed more than a spanking with the open hand, but we don't see a single thing wrong with it. Unspanked kids have a tendency to become brats, and we want to head that off at the pass!

It depends, sometimes we spank our kids and other times we make them do pushups or situps. Timeout does not work at our house. I need to find a better way to discipline because I dont really like to spank the kids.

well i always give my kids a couple warnings then i try timeout but sometimes i may just go to spanking them.you just have to find what works for your own child some spanking may not fase but talking does.when it comes to mine they don't like spankings so they will listen.
