At First which brand name comes in ur mind for the digital camera?

Hey there, IAm also thinking to buy a digital camera. Can u recommend me a good one? My brother is in middle east of Asia and there electronics are quite cheap, so i can ask him to buy me one. Cheers, Tutul

When I think about a camera, the brand Nikon would come to mind. However, buying a Nikon would only be worth it if you are buying a high end camera as their mid range and low end models are not as good as their high end models. So, if I am looking for a mid range digital camera, I would be looking at Canon as based on my experience, they have proven themselves for building very good digital cameras at prices that are affordable by most people and quality that is above the market average. Other brands that are worth looking at would be Sony, Fuji, Olympus as well as Kodak. I am looking to replace by 5.1MP Panasonic Lumix digital camera and currently I am looking at Canon and Sony. The only problem with sony is the memory card that it using as it is not the standard SD card used by other brands... Do you have any suggestion?

Canon and Nikon are always on the list, but probably the one you should think about is Panasonic. Digital cameras are electronic devices and Panasonic is THE leader in that field; but then, they now own Leica, and their cameras include Leica optics, and there is a really good case to be made that Leica lenses are the best in the world. If you buy a Leica badged camera, you pay through the nose for the brand and the prestige: but virtually the same camera with the Panasonic Lumix badge is a bargain and a marvel to shoot with. I have more prizes on my shelf from images shot with a Lumix than with my DSLR or my film cameras, and a lot of my most best selling images were also shot with a Panasonic Lumix camera.

To me, the best camera brand is Canon for taking professional shots.

nikon comes to mind, then sony, then kodak simply because ive been around those the most. ;)

The first thing that comes to my mind is Cannon as I own a digital camera of Canon. I am not sure if it is the best but surely it is one of the top contenders for the finest quality of digital cameras.
