"How did u Convince a Child that the Dialect we use is Important Subject"

My Son which is 13 years old now with his 1st year High School is having trouble with his Pilipino subject when we received the Grade with them and I really do not know on how did he did not manage to have a good grade unto this subject for we as a Pilipino for this is the Filipino's(dialect) and for all of the subject he have a very good rating and it is flat at the rate of 75% and I do not know on how I have to let him study with this and how I will convinced him that a Pilipino for he will always tell me that it is very hard and it is better to study "English"...and please tell me a good idea on How i will convince my Son to study more on this Pilipino subject for it is still important.....
