finding a best friend

It isn't easy to find a best friend. Friends just come and go. They don't last. Why? Because they have their own personal reasons for being. They have their own personal goals. Once they go abroad, they are gone. Once they marry, they just remember you once in a while. Better not to attach yourself too emotionally so that you won't get hurt when your friend goes away. In a barkada, it is also better to equally treat everyone as good friends. That way, there will be no jealousy in the group. Whatchathink?

I believe in what a friend says. There are different types of friendship: friends for a reason, friends for a season, and friends for a lifetime. I've met friends for a reason...those friends who were in my life for a short time...friends for a season...again those friends who were in my life for a longer period of time, but unfortunately they're now more like acquaintances...but I've still got friends for a lifetime...those people who live far away from me and they've gone married and they've got their own kid(s), but they still keep in touch with me. Those friends whom I'd LOVE to meet again and I know that when we meet again, we'll feel like we've never been apart too long. So keep the faith!!! There ARE lifetime friends, too. :-)))) But I agree with you that we have to keep our expectations low, esp. when those friends have a family already and they're so busy with their lives. It's not that they don't want to spend time with you, but they've just got a handful of things to do...but that doesn't mean they're not good friends. :-)))
