Discussion About Religion

Lately I have come across a couple of discussions that touch about the subject of religion. The author was happily condemning a religion based on what he read and what he learned from, most probably, the news on TV, internet or newspapers and magazines. The thing is, do you think that it is really appropriate to criticize and condemn other people's beliefs? Do you think that your religion is the right religion other religions are not right. Is it fair to say that anyone who belief that religion would behave the same way and do the same bad things, which is measured by your own standards? I sincerely feel that we should leave religion as something that is private to us and something that belongs to our heart and if we subscribe to freedom of this and that, we should not be saying bad things about others just because the are different from us. If one Israeli did something bad to a Muslim, does that mean that everyone in Israel is evil? If a Muslim did something bad to a Christian, does that mean anybody who believe in Islam are terrorists? Somehow, most people failed to think openly and most of the time are blinded by emotions... Some people read a few articles and they feel that they are already an expert about other religions and they can go all out to present their so called facts for others to read... What do you think about that? Do you think that we should bring up religious issue here on myLot? Let me have your feedback. Thanks!

I'm not sure, if everyone can discuss something without being negative. But that never happens and like you said relgion is a personal thing and people are very passionate. I never understood how one person that is passionate about there relgion can not understand how someone else would feel the same way about theres! I am a strong believer in live and let live. As long as you don't effect someone else and there lifestyle choices then fine do want you want! The second you impose you beliefs or lifestyle choices on others you are wrong!

I agree that we shall not impose our beliefs on others and therefore, at the same time we shall not be an expert on criticizing what others believe in their life... Cheers!
