Employer replaced me while on maternity leave

When I became pregnant, I told my employer I could not work nights at my job anymore. At first they said they could not accomodate me, which I understood. Then a few weeks later, my manager talked to me and offered me a schedule with no nights but only could give me 12 hours with the option to stay longer to do other jobs. Also offered a raise. I accepted and we agreed upon a date I was to return from maternity leave. One week before I was to return, my employer called me and said they really did not need me for those hours and they hired someone else who could work nights. She said I could still have the option to work every sat (4 hours) and maybe fill in for employees on vacation. I said ok and she told me to get in touch with the front office manager to figure something out. I emailed the office manager the next day and she responded she wasn't sure about the details of my conversation with the manager and that she would be on vacation for a week and would get back to me. No one ever called me back. In the meantime I filed for unemployment compensation because I did not know if they could work something out for me. The application got turned down with the findings saying the employer said I volantarily quit and that I had refused to work the hours they needed. She also sent me an email accusing me of milking the system and that I was just sitting home collecting money. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if anyone had opinions about this. A note also I do not qualify for FMLA if anyone is wondering
