What do you regret about college?

Would you have taken a different major? Would you have chosen a different school? How about those student loans? Do you wish you had not taken out so many? Do you wish you had studied more? had more fun? Do you regret not finishing? Do you possibly regret even going at all?

The only thing that I regretted about my college life was that I did not concentrate on my studies during me first and second year. I should have done that and work hard instead I was just too busy playing and goofing around. First two years of college are supposed to be the easy years where the opportunity to get better grades are presented to students and sadly I did not go for it. In the end, I ended up with a pathetic 2.20 GPA at the end of my second year in college and that is way beyond what I was capable of doing if I were to just allocate sometimes to study. During my third and final year, realizing that I need to desperately pull up my grades, I stopped playing around and spent more times going through the books and school related discussions. However, it was not easy to bring up the grade with only a few subjects left and my GPA was finally still below 3.00. I really regretted that and how I wish I could turn back the clock and do my college years all over again...

No problem... I have climbed up in my career and things are not bad at all although it could have been easier if I have my grades to back me up... Without the grades, I depend solely on my experiences and recommendations from people who know me. Cheers!

Meeting those crazy female friends that I did.. I hated the fact that I had no choice but to apply for me a student loan, just to pay for my extra college expenses.. I just wished that I had went to a better college.. The college that I went to, the people was so hooked on smoking clubbing and what not.. I was not into those type of things.. It is nothing wrong with having fun, but the way they went about it, was like being subjected to peer pressure. If you are weak in the mind, a person would have fell for their enticements. But not me, I was weigh too smart to get mixed up in that crowd..

I studied Electronics at the college. But I regreat that I was not able to study it in the way a sincer student should study. We had very poor facilities at the college and it did not have its own good library to provide good number of books on this subject. I remember that we had worked very hard and looked for almost everything to make a good project in our final year. However, all was in vain. We ended up making a simple two band radio which was too below the expectated form of project we wanted to have. That prevented me from getting good score in the final year and then getting me an admission to higher courses.

That is right. It is just because the knowledge gained during that time was not enough to build career in that subject. It is sad thing that when you want to study, you are not allowed to do so.

College is the most unforgettable phase in my life. I experienced joys and sadness as well. college made a great impact in my life. however, if i could change back time I should have not taken the course i took up, I should have taken a much more nobler course.

college for me was 10 years ago. now that i have a kid, i wish i partied more when i was in school. i'm not a genius or anything. i believe i did academically well in school, especially my major. i wasn't a geek or a social outcast or anything. i wasn't popular or un-popular. i just don't know why i didn't get to party more often. i know i had fun but i didn't really get to party all that much... :(

Hi rocket, I had the best friends, grades, experiences and exposures when I was in College and I don't like to edit it..LOL! I have no regrets really! I am very much satisfied about it, I know it wasn't easy at all as well as it was not pure fun but I love everything about my College life even if my allowance from Parents before was just enough! LOL! I was a full time student and never had any loan to anybody...

Not going. I was never encouraged to do good in High school much less anything about more education or career afterwards. I was told to get married and have kids and be a mother. So that is what I did. Tehn when I had to start to work I had to start at the bottom end of minimum wage and support 2 kids and a husband on minium wage. Hasn't gotten any better in the last 30 years - so.... go to school, get an education and dont' complain about your regrets as they won't be near a bad if you have an education as if you dont.

I Loved college, I wish i could have gone on and on, but i ran out of $$ and had to go into the real world and make a living. I never used much of what I learned there in real life, but it was fun learning it all.

Well, I've only started college a few weeks ago, but I already regret embarrassing myself horribly on the second day. I'll tell the story because I hope it will make some of you laugh. So it was my last class of that day, and I got there early. This cute girl walks in, looks at me, walks over and sits down next to me. So I'm nervous already. She says, "Wow! I actually made it. I've been getting lost all day." I laughed. She continued, "I swear, I can't take two steps without having to stop, put down my backpack, and search for my schedule." To which I nerdily replied, "Well, I just put my schedule into my phone. It works well for me." She says, confused, "What kind of phone do you have? I know mine can't do anything like that." Well, I tell her it's an iPhone and she gets excited and wants to see it. Now, something you should know is that I recently bought a leather case for it. It's nice and all, but it makes the phone extremely bulky and practically twice the size. So getting my phone out of my pocket is no easy feat. I am sitting down, trying to get my phone out of my pants for about a whole minute. Now, what I didn't realize then was that the moment I began reaching for my phone was the same moment the old lady teacher decided to start paying attention to me. She is standing infront of the table I'm sitting at, which is blocking her view of my waist. So all she sees is some guy desperately tugging at some unknown region of his pants while this girl sits next to him, staring at that same region with a look of anticipation on her face. That is when I, not fully realizing the words coming out of my mouth, say to the girl, "Hold on. It's so damn big, sometimes I can't even pull it out of my pants." The look of horror and surprise on this lady's face was priceless. As soon as I saw her expression and made the connection, I practically screamed, "My phone!!! I was talking about my phone!!!" Well, the girl thought the whole situation was funny and I'm now friends with her; However, it is still a bit awkward between me and the teacher.

i never regret any single moment that happened to me during my college years, i enjoyed a lot during my high school years and upon entering college, i promised to myself i'd be a better person, in which i did because i am a half academic scholar and one of the top students of our college department. I still have contacts with my close college buddies up to now.. and i'm happy seeing them all after all those years.

It has been more than a decade since I graduated from college but I would say that I loved my college life. In fact, I was even more satisfied during those college years as compared with my years being a high school student. I took up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in a local private educational institution. I was glad to graduate after four years and most of my schoolmates commented that I'm a diligent student. Modesty aside, I would like to consider myself as such because I never had to repeat a subject twice and I never had to extend my years in college. What I just regret partly is to have chosen a school which isn't my first choice. My high school friends and I chose to take a college entrance examination in a prestigious university here in our country. Luckily, three of us passed it; but only one of us was able to study in that particular university. Even if I passed the test, I was aiming to study in a university in my hometown, to be with my parents and siblings. So, the slot for me in the university here in the city was given to another student applicant because there was a deadline for enrollment. Short to say, I was forced to scout other schools still 'open' for enrollment during the last days before classes begun.

My college life in post graduation was the golden period of my life, because everything good happened with me. I got the best college, the best professors. The majors were also the one that I wanted. I met with my first love here and since then it was like having sparkling days and evenings together. Today i regret why did the college days end... Couldn't it stretch for few more years? ... That is what is life all about...But i loved my college days and all those memories and the places we visited then are deep in my heart....
