Well, I've tried to become a tour guide. My friend's boyfriend ask us if we want to try, by then we all don't have a job that we applied for. So we tour guided some Elementary students. It's our first time so we really don't know what to say, so we talked to them to the level of their understanding. At the end of the day, we are all tired but we still manage to go back to he school without a lost child..LOL!!! And we have freebies of food. But I never had a chance to be a tour guide again because I'm already starting to work in a hospital. So I need to prioritize what my job should be. I'm a nurse now.. But it's my 3rd job and 2nd hospital to work with....

My first job was the job of a customer care executive in a domestic call centre. I worked in a call centre of Airtel for around 2 months during my college days. Actually, I always wanted to experience how it feels like to be working in a call centre. I used to consider that job very easy going. But believe me, its not. When you have to sit listening to customers for continuous 8-9 hrs with the headphones on ur ears continuously and targets set for the day to receive over 100 calls, its never gonna be easy at any time. Moreover, complaints and abuses from customers would rather spoil ur day. I joined that job during the last year of my college as i had some free time, so thought of experiencing the same worth an extra hand of pocket money into my pocket. May be it was a domestic call centre, thats y i had a tough schedule. bu anyway, I learnt one thing, everything that looks easy is not really easy in actual. I tried for a different process and not voice process in another call centre, and got successful too, but did not join it since i had my brother's wedding coming up and then had to focus on my engineering too. Currently, I am working as a Software Enginner and i am quite pleased with my job as for now, but that experience will remain unforgettable for me!!

Luckily i never had night shifts in that job, as i mentioned it was a domestic call centre. Probabaly that happens in internation processes. But it was equally worse for me. I had different timings on different days. Early morning on saturdays and sundays and afternnon shifts on weekdays with only Monday being off.

I think people wants to work in a call center because call center pays a lot compared to restaurants, or department or supermarket stores. but i guess working in a call center is harder since most of it is during night shifts here. the good thing you enjoyed your first job. thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting

hi there amethyst =) my first job was a call center agent at some IT company. it was fun! I enjoyed it for sometime until all of my batchmates started filing for resignation, leaving for another company or life. lols. We handle a telecomms account. I only had one issue there with the company but the rest were okay..and that issue is our batch's common ground for leaving. but through that company/job, i learned more in spoken conversational english which i really owe them a lot because i am a naturally shy person, haha, especially in vocally expressing myself. XD thanks!

I have no experience in the corporate world or on blue collar jobs, I rally never experienced working with a boss, although for some time I used to do direct selling, but then that's all. My only boss is my hubby, so my first job? as a wife and I knew I aced it, then I was promoted to be a mother, and this one job is very exhausting but fulfilling and fun.

My very first job was at a department store. I hated it. I was in high school, they had me work too many hours, I didn't have enough time to do homework, and the pay wasn't worth it. I would work from 6pm to 1am. I then had to get up at 7am to go to school. I just didn't see where working there was proving to be fruitful.

At least you experience how to have a work maybe u hated it because all you want is too study hard..Working my be hard but if u like it and do it by heart you will realized that it is not hard at all.. gaining experience in life make you better person and having a passion in work is not hard at least you believed in your self that you can do it, be happy want you have, other people can find a job, just enjoy every job that you take. Schooling and working is hard but there a time management that can be done, if you think you can handle the job while studying try to find a job that will suit to your time management...

working while studying is really hard. like what he said its just time management. maybe you were so young then that you weren't able to manage both. anyways, look on the brighter side, at least you have experience working in a department store. thanks for the reply Irishrose, take care.

I also worked as a sevice crew for a not so popular fast food restaurant... and i lasted only for 1 month... because i was so overworked and underpaid... when my friend told me about an opening in one popular fast food chain... i immediately resigned from my current job... and applied there... The only good thing i learned from my first job was how to operate the cash register... other than that... nothing more...

Sometimes is hard and sometimes not hard. Depends to how many customers there are shopping. Sometimes there will no customers and the time pass by very slow. I think need a lot of patient to wait for long hours.

My first job was technically wendys..but that only lasted a week. So I consider my first job to be McDonalds. I worked there for 4 years and i loved it. I was in high school when i started there as a crew member/cashier. After a while i kept getting raises and ended up beign a shift manager. i loved it. It was fun for me. Only reason I didnt continue that job was because i relocated to move closer to my family. I think that job gave me the basics of any job. I learnt how to be professional, how to manage others, how to be on time for everything, how to deal with rude people. how to terminate someone. I learnt a lot from that job, skills in which i still use today

I had my first job when I was 10. My father is skilled with Old English lettering (before the use of computers for printing texts become known) and he had special jobs in the school he's teaching like printing student's names on diploma using the Old English letter print. This was how I came to learn how to write in Old English. Dip the pen on india ink and follow the strokes on each letter. I got paid by father for P2 on each diploma and it would be a lot when I printed more than five hundred diplomas. I was really happy earning at a very young age and my father taught me that the good way to earn money is through "the sweat of thy brow." When I reminisce at the memories, I feel glad because my father had introduced me into printing Old English the traditional way. When I think of father, I write in Old English print. It is one of his legacies that he gave to me. My father is now 62 and he is still teaching. He know that whenever he needs help with the Old English prints on diplomas, I am always there and he could always depend on me. :)

My first job was teaching Math to teachers who would take Licensure Examination for Teachers. Well, it was scary at first because they were Education graduates and my impression of them at first was they are strict, but then as I go on with teaching them, I found them kind and they want to recall Math since they have forgotten about it already specially those majoring in non-Math subjects. Good day!

Well my first real job was in a call center. I worked for Linksys before as a Technical Support Representative. It was rather difficult for me because I had to adjust my bio clock. My work is in the night shift. After some time I got used to it however it didn't take me long to stay with the company because the pay wasn't too good during the time I was employed.

I got my first official job when I was 14, back in the 1970's, picking Strawberries at a local orchard. Seems amazing now, but we felt good about getting 15 cents a quart for picking berries. I made about $100 dollars that summer and earned every penny of it! I also babysat for a neighbors 3 kids back then for $1 an hour, $2 after midnight. I think the work involved gave me a lot of respect for money and I saved almost all of it until 1983 when I used it for a school trip to France. I think part of the reason the trip is still special in my mind is because I earned the money to pay for it (my parents couldn't afford to pay for it).
