If you were to start a business and have the capital you needed to put up one, would you consider franchise or put up your own? I believe they have it's advantage and disadvantage. But if you were to, would you or would you not? Why?

i think if i was just starting out i would franchise as this would give me the oppertunity to really learn the ins and outs with minimal investment and risk. The brand name is already secure and the publicity for the business is likely to already be handled and not out of my budget i just reep the benefits. I am likely to go with a larger, well established franchisee as this will give me more security. Once i have proved to myself that i understand it in a real world sense rather than theory and what i've been taught. That i can translate it into profit i would then probably move into something myself using the contacts, skills and experience i have aquired during that process.

Of course if i would to choose, I'll go for putting up my own business. There's nothing great in starting your own empire. Especially, when it builds up and thats the time you offer it for franchise. As a result, you earn bigger because you started something that others will follow eventually, so more money in the bank. Franchise is only good if you have tons of money to burn. The only disadvantage in starting your own business is, the risk is higher and there's slim assurance of succeeding. Whilst buying a franchise is more the safer side because the company is already established.
