Do you set standards for an ideal person as partner?

Do you? Or you just accept a person and try to get to know him/her better if you guys click and that's it? I know someone who do and ended up having her ideal partner. Unfortunately she was unable to have the ideal family, meaning up to now, she is thirty seven years old, 6 years married but no babies yet..
